I was only able to identify two because they flew overhead and I heard their calls, but I could definitely hear a lot more mixed in with the Tundra Swans.

Immature joined the next day. Immature is being debated if it is trumpeter or tundra. Didn’t know how to edit my original post.

Aaron
Saw not one but 2 Snowy owls today! Even though I swear I saw one a long time ago. Didn't get very good pictures, he was way in the middle of someone’s field. I walked up until I was maybe 40-50 feet away and tried my best. Guess I could have gone closer, but I l’m not sure how close is too close for these guys. The other (an immature female) was on the side of the highway so couldn’t stop to get a pic. Anyways a very cool bird! Might try to go out again if I give in and spend some $$$$ on a new camera... Snowies are fairly common to the east of the city here. Some guy I talked to while looking at this bird had this as his sixth snowy owl of the day!

I thought I saw these a long time ago, But I recently checked my photo I took of it and it's an eclipse plumage Northern Shoveler distorted by Heat waves! So I went to add them to my life list today. I saw many. The Northern Shoveler I thought was a Teal. The Blue-winged Teals

It was way out in the middle of a very large river and it never came to land. People had been seeing it at this location previously, always flying over the water, so I went to look for it. Every time I saw a gull I got all excited because I thought it was the owl. When I did see it, it took me a second to realize it wasn't a gull!

chipperatl
Got a report of a juvenile Great Black-backed Gull at the largest lake in the county. After quickly wrapping up CBC duties and letting dogs out I booked out there. I couldn't locate the juvenile, but as I scanned I came across an adult. County lifer #240. This is a long overdue bird for us here.
IKLland
North American bird #95, cali bird #88 and it was a Hutton’s vireo yesterday! 95 for North America isn’t bad considering I have only been birding since late may.... hoping for 100 before the new year. December has been great for my lifers though, I have had 26 in the month. And I really haven’t traveled anywhere....
