Lifers

Ended my Maui trip with 25 lifers. Definitely a different kind of birding experience since 14 of them were introduced species.

Black-headed Gull-rare in Florida. This one has been being seen in the exact same location for a couple of weeks. I believe it has an injured leg which might be why it doesn't go far from this perch. Other than the 2 1/2 hour drive easiest life bird ever I think. We pulled up spotted it before ever exiting the car.

I’m stunned this is my first one, people see them everywhere here in the winter. 
 

There were three of them, btw. But they were pretty distant so I got awful photos.

Ah I see, nemesis conquered aye? I still don't have a good flicker photo, and they're very common here.

Yes!

 

however i was mainly searching for a brown crested flycatcher which I had no luck in finding, even though 9 people saw it in the past two days. And nobody that showed up besides me didn’t see it in the last two days….so frustrating.

Ugh, I can relate to that. Especially since most of my birding career has been without a Drivers license and with an urge to make every stop count...dipping is painful. That was me last year with Grasshopper sparrow. Went 3 times before I found it.
