dragon49
Lifer #88 and this year's 13th, Yellow-crowned Night-Heron. I would have missed these birds, but I always follow photographers with long lenses pointed at something and the woman mentioned the potential lifer, so I hung around for fifteen minutes and took 278 pictures. Here is the best one. Very close to the same spot where I got my Black-crowned Night-Heron lifer last Sunday. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/424850831

dragon49
Purple Martins. Lifer #89 and my 14th lifer of the year. Last week, somebody at the same hotspot I visited submitted a fair number of these the same day I didn't see any, so I was hoping and expecting to come across these soon. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/427052321 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/427052341 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/427052351 Edited March 20, 2022 by dragon49

SirVive
So my 3 yr old is getting good enough at spotting and ID'ing stuff I decided she needed her own ebird account once I figured out there was an easy way to run multiple accounts on the same device. No just tagging along with me for the ride here, she only gets to list things she ID's on her own. The same day we were eating lunch and she pipes up, "Daddy, there are 2 Black Capped Chickadees" Sure enough -countable lifer #1 ! P.S. Anyone know ebird well enough to tell me how to handle personal locations between multiple accounts? With her account open it won't show any of my personal locations - OK, I get why that might be just the way it's built - but when I tried to rename the default suggested location the same name as I have it under my account it wouldn't let me because that name had already been used? Either I should be able to share location lists or make a location with the same name as another user.

If you share a list from your account to hers, she will receive the personal location and will be able to use it from then on.

That will work for a work around. But I still can't believe that there aren't hundreds of personal locations named 'home' or the like.

But the only people who can post to a personal location are the owner and anyone they've shared a checklist from that location with. Only the owner can edit them. Hotspots are available to anyone and are managed by eBird volunteers (2 per county plus some high up folks). As of about a year ago you can't change the name assigned to a Hotspot on your checklists.

But that still doesn't explain why I couldn't create a new personal location on my daughters account with the same name. My next door neighbor should be able to create his own 'home' location 50' from mine. Unless somehow it treats it differently because we both use the same device?
