dragon49
Cedar Waxwing: It was a relief to get this one over with. Many other county birders have been reporting this bird all winter, and I was getting sick and tired of seeing it in my needs list all day. 🙂 Now that I know Merlin gets this call right, I'm certain I've observed it at least once before. I'm fine taking lifers from sound IDs only, (although I much prefer visual IDs with photos) but I thought the previous high-pitched calls I heard were too marginal and too short to be conclusive evidence. I have a feeling my aged ears are having problems with high-frequency sounds, which is why I wasn't certain of the earlier IDs. I hope to get pictures much less crappy than what I posted today, but for now, this is enough proof: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/538167791 Edited February 22 by dragon49
