Taylorjane
This hawk was seen today in southern Utah near St. George. I thinking it ma be a Red-tail Hawk, but not great on my raptor ID. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Jefferson Shank
or is it a Rough-legged Hawk?
akandula
Definitely Red-tailed Hawk. Instead of having contrasting dark patagials, Rough-legged Hawks have large dark wrist patches that are absent in this bird. Also, Rough-legged have thinner wings and a much smaller beak.
