Hi all,

Seen last summer in Monterey, CA. I thought it looks essentially like a Western, except the bill is stubbier and less hefty than a typical Western, and the head shape also appears rounded and more petite. Perhaps just an aberrant Western? Thanks!

Looks fine for Western Gull to me but there could well be some Glaucous-winged genes mixed in - Glaucous-winged x Western are likely to have a slightly less "bulbous-tipped" bill than pure Western.

Cool how you can see a couple of the inner primaries are freshly grown in, but the outer primaries are super worn and faded.
