domestic mallard? (all white)

Recommended Posts

at first i thought... now what kind of duck do we have thats all white? then i saw the curled feathers and i thought... well, a domestic mallard certainly fits the situation (as seen today in a park in central NC).  but before i call it for certain, id like confirmation...  i know dom. mallards can show various phenotypes, but ive never seen all white.  thanks!

"domestic mallard" is like calling a poodle a domestic wolf. For birding purposes, it's really the only way to do it I suppose...  but "domestic mallard"(species) covers a LOT of different breeds of duck... There are quite a few breeds that can have white forms...   I think this is looking pretty good for a Pekin duck... the kind you might eat at a restaurant...
