Today, Mesa, AZ   I think t826931291_Cassins.jpg.6509ec39ddae8fa50da8279d582b4ee3.jpgGrosbeak1.jpg.c265e0cdae83398a7aea759007a94516.jpghis is a Cassin's Finch.  Am I close?   Thanks for your help.

You're close -- this is actually a male House Finch. Cassin's Finches would have a straighter culmen and less streaking on the flanks.

The male has brown streaking on whitish on the flanks -- that is one of the best distinctions between House and either Purple or Cassin's.
