strange looking bird

I think your "eye" and "beak" are part of the wing. The bird is flying away from the camera on picture 1.

Away????? Not left to right?  If that isn't the leading edge of the right wing, with the primaries pointing down, then I have been up too long and don't have a clue what I'm looking at again.

Okay, maybe I've just had a long day at work but if that blob in the upper right of the second photo is a bird, I'm John James Audubon.  And what's that white sail-looking thing in the first photo?

I'm pretty sure that blob in the upper right of the second photo is a narwhal. Habitat is a bit off but everything else fits.

You guys made me laugh so hard! ?

But seriously, these are obviously game cam type photos with the shutter speed too slow to catch a bird in flight (especially when being chased by sasquatch) - hence the hideous distortions. ?

I'm pretty sure you have two shots of the same bird heading towards the upper right and away - taken a few seconds apart.

I have no comment on the ''bird blob'' but is it possible that the ''floating'' object is a smear on the camera lens, maybe bird splatter? ?

Wouldn't it be present in the second photo?

The photo is a result of refresh rate I believe. The smear is the bird's wing, just in a different position.

If that was the case, wouldn't the rest of the bird be present too?

Hey, stop that!  Get your head out of my spleen!

No... if I'm right it's essentially taking a double exposure because the bird's wings are too fast. So it got the bird's body in one spot but the wings are in separate spots across the image. Does that make sense? Probably not. Oh well.
