Mark Posted March 8, 2020 Share Posted March 8, 2020 Thoroughly confused on this one. Early morning on 29 Feb at Mitchel Lake Audubon Center here in San Antonio, TX. I have not seen a mostly white hawk before. I had thought maybe it was a Red Tail, but as I zoomed in the picture, I think (not 100% sure) that what I am seeing is not the breast, but rather the back side of the hawk and it is looking back over its shoulder. I could be wrong about that, but the picture is confusing. I am still leaning towards Red Tail and the darker area across the white being the belly band, but just want some other opinions please.
