We found this nest while pruning the old vines from our Clematis.  It's 9" tall and soft like a woolen sock.  Who made it, how and with what?  Is it re-usable ?  Should we put it back on the vine ?  I've seen weaver-bird nests before but this is amazing - it's soft and flexible.  It must be very comfy inside for the babies.  Tony D., Auburn, CAP1080869.thumb.JPG.42e631a370a66ecb198b2bb3a1484957.JPGP1080871.thumb.JPG.351b4d2530c22e830897e48e8c6573dd.JPG

Bushtit?   See link to another recent post. Don't know if they reuse them or not.

Agree with Bushtit nest. We have a pair that nests nearby every year. It's amazing that such tiny birds can construct such an elaborate nest!! As far as I know they don't reuse them.

Found a similar nest at Lost Lake in Fresno, CA. There were bushtits and ruby-crowned kinglets nearby so wasn't sure about the owner.
