JackieL
These photos were all taken late June 2019 during an Alaska cruise. I know Gulls are not all of our favorites but all help is greatly appreciated and I really struggle with them! Thank you so much! #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #
AlexHenry
It would really help if you gave more specific locations. Alaska is a big state. #5 looks like a Kittiwake to me. #2 and #4, with the large windows in P9 and P10, and the small bill, look like Mew Gulls. AlexHenry
#6 and #7 are some sort larger gull, possibly one or more (hybridization) of the following: Glaucous-winged, Herring, Vega Herring, Western.
JackieL
pictures 1-4 were taken in the Juneau area and 5-7 were all taken in Glacier Bay National Park
AlexHenry
# 5 is Black-legged Kittiwake. # 6 and # 7 is I think a Glaucous-winged x Herring Gull. # 2 and # 4 are Mew Gull. # 1 might also be Mew Gull but I'm not sure and I'm not sure of # 3, wing pattern looks like Mew but the beak looks big so I'm not sure.

Tony Leukering
1-4 are of Mew Gulls -- note wide and strongly contrasting white trailing edge to wings, wingtip pattern (compare to this Ring-billed) 6-7 are of probable Glaucous-winged Gulls -- note dark eyes and non-black outer primaries; while there could be Herring influence in either or both of them, I don't see anything in particular that points to that in either bird, though #6 is probably best left as unidentified given the poor view
AlexHenry
I thought the primaries on 6 and 7 looked a bit dark for pure Glaucous-winged Gull.
