need help with ID's from ME

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm going through photos from my vacation last July to Augusta, ME and need help with quite a few of them. All help is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you all so much in advance!

#6- only shot I was able to get, may not be identifiable but I figure it was worth a try

#7- taken on a boat at sunrise during heavy fog so the quality is very poor, possibly Common Mergansers??

#8 (photo shot from a boat in a bog)

I'm not sure if we can safely call  #7 Red-breasted Mergansers. ???

Frankly I think Red-breasted Merganser would be pretty unlikely in the Augusta area in July. The bills also look too hefty.

If they are mergansers (which I'm not completely sure about), I think they are much more likely Common Merganser.
