alndonna
I found this Hummer at Beatty's Guest House at 5800 ft elevation on May 1, near Hereford, AZ, just a few miles from the Mexican border. AlexHenry
Broad-tailed Hummingbird. Note the rufous on the tail feathers, the long tail, the red-pink gorget on the throat but a green forehead, unlike Anna's Hummingbird. And I'll bet it made a high pitched metallic buzzing or humming sound as it flew by. Broad-tails like high elevations. Then again, just about any hummingbird can be seen at Beatty Guest Ranch. I think the most I ever saw there at once was 9 species... Edited March 21, 2020 by AlexHenry

I think it was Peru and the birds were so high in the mountains it should have been almost impossible to fly but they had adapted, can't remember the details of how they did it but the doc is well worth watching if it comes back - amazing birds.
