Almost had one yesterday! A Crow lit on the roof across the street, but flew just as I got outside with my camera! The word must be out among them not to get caught on a roof!!

OK, I got this one today in Northern New Jersey.. my first owl ever

Does this count? Or does it need to be a better photo. I could probably get a better one.

The bird that is hard to see is above the very white gull on the left.

From left to right. Barrow's Goldeneye, Common Goldeneye, Bufflehead

Look at the left up near the shore, there is a pair of Barrow's Goldeneye, in the first photo the male is submerged.

Here's the pair

How about a blueish colored bird and a reddish colored bird in the same photo. For example, a Western Bluebird and a male House Finch, or a Cardinal and a Blue Jay, or a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and a male Cinnamon Teal. Is this to hard?

Good challenge. I live in the PNW so there are not any Cardinals, the Bluebirds have left now and I have never seen a Blue Jay in my area. However, we do have Steller's Jays, California Scrub-Jays and House Finches but as a rule when the Jays show up all of the other birds scatter in all directions. So this might be a little tricky for me but it is doable providing the birds will cooperate. 🙂

Here's the next challenge...

Three or more upland game birds in the same shot, can be three of the same species or mixed, /ie: quail, grouse, chukar, bobwhite, pheasant, partridge, turkey, etc.

Good luck! 🙂

Ooooh, that’s gonna be hard. Sounds like fun, though. There’s a covey of Bobwhites that live in and around our property, so I’ll see if I can find them.
