I discovered my problem is that with the new time change I leave in the dark and come home in the dark ... and my seed mix doesn't attract nighthawks or owls ? Aaron
I’m gonna be going after neither junco (almost all Oregon and slate-coloured here)?
Avery
I’ll be looking for a white winged. One was reported in southern Vermont recently. Or maybe a western red-tail.
Connor Cochrane
@MichaelLongYou will have to judge. I found a mimima cackling goose today. They certain aren't expected, Aleutians are, but they aren't flagged as rare, as a few come down during this time. What's your call?

Connor Cochrane
This one might be easy or it could be difficult, I’m not sure. The challenge is to take a photo that has two species of Finch that don’t breed where you live.
MichaelLong
like county wide or right where you live?

I think that pretty much limits us (at least me in PA and Idaho by next week) to Redpolls and Rosy-finches... Evening Grosbeak and Pine Grosbeak in PA but they both breed in Idaho too. I haven't birded in Idaho too much, but I presume it's mostly the same as Montana. I'm fine if you live in a valley where Evening Grosbeak don't breed, but come down for the winter. This is for birds that just don't breed in the habitat around you, but come down for the winter.
