Birdsbringmejoy
Can anyone help me identify a bird I just saw in my back yard? I live just outside of Calgary, Alberta. The bird was the size of a Robin. Brown-gray back with a lighter orange chest and and a wide orange ring around its neck. its beak looked longer than a normal beak. It was on the found feeding on hulled sunflower seeds and dried fruits. Any ideas? Thank you!

Jefferson Shank
The bird was the size of a Robin. Brown-gray back with a lighter orange chest and and a wide orange ring around its neck. Varied Thrush? They don't have any orange ring.

The Bird Nuts
Sorry, @Jefferson Shank that was kind of mean of me... I recommend reading this post by Tony Leukering. He explains it better than I ever could.
