TKbird
Sorry I haven't been around much y'all! Just wanted to hop on and invite you all to join my new "Whatbirders of iNat" project on iNaturalist. No particular purpose, just thought it would be nice to keep track of each other on that platform. https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/whatbirders-of-inat TKbird

Did join the group though, and was surprised to see I didn't have the least reporting's!

I don't know anything about it and have never had a reason to look. Whatbird does a good job of my birding needs. It would be another site I'd have to keep up with. I say that, don't like that you have to submit every sighting separately, and that you can't make a list, and then add your photos.

I find it easier than the eBird entry on computer, but not as easy as the eBird app. I just dump all my pictures in and usually can batch in the locations since I’m too lazy to add the GPS locations in Lightroom.

It is basically eBird but for everything in Nature. 2

My only real issues with it are the fact that you can't make an checklist (eBird's spoiled me in some ways, I'll admit), You have to submit your observations one at a time (which is time-consuming), and you have to have a photo. But I DO like their eBird-like range maps, the broad diversity of the whole thing, and the ID section. I think that was a great idea to include.
Colton V
I had iNaturalist for 9 months before I actually started using it, for reasons similar to what you guys mentioned. I forgot I had the account until one day I saw a river otter and thought, “There’s gotta be a place I can report this!” I also wanted to see where other people had seen river otters. Some google searches brought me back to iNaturalist and I just got excited and started uploading everything I saw. I also really like identifying birds for people and iNaturalist has a neat identification system.

Clip
Welcome to the party!!! I joined along time ago but never used until recently. I have been on a couple of months now and I am loving it. I like all the different groups you can join. Some your sightings are automatically included others you have to add it to the project. I have gotten into the forums at all but I image they are similar to what we have here. I don't try to use it like ebird for my photos. I still use ebird. Love love love all the help I get getting other things ided. See you there!

Uploading everything I see recent and a bunch of what I have seen in the past. I am having a blast taking those walks down memory lane. I can general tell from the pictures where I was. If I can't I can often figure it out using ebird. I'm up over 900 species reported and counting.

If I have several from the same location I post a pic find the location, copy the location for the next pic, get the species id... Then go to the next pic upload, paste location then have to select it and enter. Repeat repeat repeat... It is a bit time consuming, would love to be able to cut that.

On the upload page (on the website), drag as many pics as you want into the upload field. You can then hold <control> and click on individual pictures. Then to the left there are some boxes for species, date and location. You just add in the single location there, and it updates all the highlighted pics. I also like to use the "Pinned Locations" on there for hotspots I frequent. Makes it much easier for adding locations. Especially cause I take some many pics around the yard.
