Impossible to sex, because the top of the crown cannot be seen in any of the pictures.

And why a capital 'p' in the middle of the second word?

The forecrown is definitely gray. You can see it in the second and third photos.

I'm sorry, I disagree. In the second pic, the forecrown is not visible. However, lightening the photo does show a definite demarcation between red and gray on the mid-crown. So, a female.

I didn't know there was something called a midcrown. That's interesting... really useful for describing birds like Collared Plovers. Thanks for the correction.

Blame Microsoft for that.  PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.  Unfortunately, it's spread to other companies and the Internet in general.
