Any ideas. I thought it was an Acorn but the face was white but has a red mark in the lower jaw area.

Not the right area for a White-headed.

Any thoughts?

Looks like a Northern Flicker, red-shafted. that's the only woodpecker-type bird I know of with a red malar. I can make out spotting on its side, and the face looks gray to me which also fits with red-shafted Northern Flicker.

That is definitely Northern Flicker.

Agreed. Though probably a Red-shafted, we cannot see enough to be certain of that (though the location goes a long way in suggesting Red-shafted). Northern Flicker is right, regardless.
