Tony Leukering
Why not a Greater? The bird looks nearly the size of the Redhead. The head is large with the eye placed high relative to crown. The bill nail seems at least a bit triangular. The bill is also deeply convex, which I find quite useful. Finally, the neck is not extended, giving the bird a hunch-necked look, differing from the elegant look of Lesser. Compare bill shape to these Lessers: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/227881401#_ga=2.86758557.449355193.1587777201-1184313056.1549327880 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/227736741#_ga=2.86758557.449355193.1587777201-1184313056.1549327880 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/227734931#_ga=2.86758557.449355193.1587777201-1184313056.1549327880 Finally, though I've never used it, the relative widths of the black and white barring on the scapulars is supposed to differ, at least a bit, with one species (Greater?) having a darker impression than the other, due to wider black bars.

hbvol50
Other folks have called it a greater but the head looks really "square" in the shot with the redhead
akiley
I agree with Tony. This is a Greater Scaup. Wde bill with a large black "nail". Lessee Scaup have noticibly narrower bills. I find this useful with a good look at a bird.
