smittyone@cox.net
They arrived together, but only stayed a few moments. They are definitely larger than the Yellowlegs--the nearest "largish" shorebird nearby I could use for scale. Possibly even taller than the Avocets and Stilts I've seen over the last couple of days. Seen today in NW Missouri.

Bird-Boys
I like Hudsonian just starting to molt into breeding plumage here. notice the red feathering. Also, Hudsonian is more common in late April. Marbled would be browner and larger overall. Edited April 29, 2020 by Bird-Boys
Connor Cochrane
I agree with Hudsonian. I’ve seen thousands of Marbled, and never seen one with rufous on it.

smittyone@cox.net
Is there a better perspective (back/front, etc.) that may help confirm Hudsonian vs. Marbled? I have a few more shots I could include. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, so the colors aren't as vibrant as they could be shown. Does this one help? It's the only in-flight pic that isn't blurry. Tony Leukering
Unless dealing with an extreme rarity, the bill length, color, and pattern combined with the black tail should get you there. Only one other shorebird species is at all similar, and that's one of those aforementioned extreme rarities. It's not really difficult.
